Unusual Photography, Unusual Photographers

Photographers use their observations to find some anomalies and then feel smug. I can understand this self-satisfaction, because this way you can feel your soul, even though your body is walking around like a robot, seemingly repeating itself every day. Only photography can reflect what I think and what I find unusual.

It is not my fault that I am sloppy.

Most photographers are rigorous in their pictures. While I appreciate rigor and seriousness, my own photography is not as strict. I forgive myself for sloppy composition, as it allows me to truly enjoy the art of photography.

Local photography is more about mindset than location.

Local photography is more about mindset than location.

As a street photographer, I am frequently asked if I have visited the Grand Canyon or Nepal. Despite the assumption that I must travel extensively to capture my shots, I consider myself a local photographer. People are often confused by this term and wonder how I can take interesting photos without traveling far.

Perhaps they are overlooking the fact that flowers bloom in abundance both locally and abroad during the spring season. Spring is everywhere as long as it’s enjoyable. Wherever there is photography, there are moments. Now that is local photography.

LEICA 21mm f/3.4 LEITZ SUPER-ANGULON REVIEW

leica m2 + leica super-angulon 21 3.4

The Leica Super-Angulon 21mm design was originally developed by Schneider and later brought to Leitz. It can focus very close (0.4m), which is remarkable for a Leica M lens, and produces a bokeh. This lens is exceptionally sharp and produces beautiful images. Using a Super Angulon lens can instantly turn any photographer into Jeanloup Sieff.

Not suitable for landscapes

In general, 21mm lenses can shoot a wide range of subjects and require a certain level of photographic skill, otherwise it’s easy to produce untidy work.
I don’t think this 21mm lens is suitable for architecture and landscape photography. On the contrary, it is very interesting for close-ups and portraits. Compared to “normal” lenses, you can make people appear taller and more impressive with this lens, and with this type of shadow, it will make them appear three-dimensional.

Digital Leica compatibility

This lens is compatible with Leica M digital cameras. However, there may be problems with color shift around edges and corners. This lens is also prone to flare on digital cameras and may be overexposed on the Leica M8 and M9. Despite these problems, this lens still produces beautiful photos, especially when converting color photos to black and white.

F4.0 vs F3.4

The optical quality of the f/3.4 Super-Angulon lens surpasses that of the f/4.0 version.

Voigtlander 21mm

The Voigtlander 21mm lens is a more affordable option than the Leica Super-Angulon. However, some Voigtlander users may eventually be tempted by the classic design and nostalgic attraction of the Super-Angulon lens.

Is street photography lazy or hardworking?

It is said that the key to street photography is not skill, but persistence. I don’t like to stick to one thing, but then again street photography never stops, photography for me is more like laziness that doesn’t want to change.

Lonely Flowers on Valentine’s Day

Lonely Flowers on Valentine’s Day

This photo was taken on Valentine’s Day, where mobile vendors were selling flowers everywhere. The flowers were the only things that stood out in the gray winter landscape of the north.

However, the photo does not capture the moment when the lover sent the flowers, making it less exciting.

I believe this is a good photo because it captures the essence of Valentine’s Day. The image depicts both couples and a lone figure, which is a common occurrence. It is possible that the bouquet of flowers was a gift to herself rather than from someone else.

Looking for natural moments among strangers

The photographer and the viewer are both strangers, which creates a sense of unfamiliarity. Street photography is a unique way of life, as it involves constantly interacting with strangers. On the other hand, street photography is free and captures strangers in candid moments. It doesn’t matter where you go from wherever you are, what matters is to keep an unknown mindset and look for framing in the strangeness.

In fact, street photography often evokes a sense of familiarity. This may seem contradictory, but it is true.

Don’t waste every piece of film

Don’t waste every piece of film

Failure is the mother of success, but unsuccessful photos will not lead to successful ones. Each photo should give the photographer a sense of accomplishment so that it will last. Poor photos don’t lead to good ones; in most cases, they turn people into gearheads.

Unraveling the mystery of street photography

Unraveling the mystery of street photography

requires courage.

The key skill in street photography is overcoming cowardice. While it may be evident that there is no special moment to capture, it is important to press the shutter frequently to exercise both technical ability and courage. When the true ‘decisive moment’ arrives, you will be able to press the shutter with ease.

If you aspire to pursue street photography, you must work on your bravery and act promptly, or you will never achieve your goal.
